EU-Report Accession Bulgaria
Bulgaria has met the objectives set in the
Laeken European Council Conclusions to open all the negotiation chapters in 2002. This was
achieved during the Spanish Presidency in the first half of 2002.
By the end of September 2002, the following 22 chapters had been provisionally closed: Free
movement of goods, Free movement of persons, Freedom to provide services, Free movement of
capital, Company law, Fisheries, Taxation, Financial Control, Economic and Monetary Union,
Statistics, Social policy and employment, Industrial policy, Small and medium-sized enterprises,
Science and research, Education and training, Telecommunications and Information Technology,
Culture and audio-visual policy, Consumers and health protection, Customs Union, External
relations, Common foreign and security policy, Institutions.
