BULGARIAN FOREIGN INVESTMENT AGENCY
Nature
The Bulgarian Foreign Investment Agency was established in April 1995 as a
one-stop shop institution for foreign investors. It is a governmental body
with the Council of Ministers for co-ordination of the activities of the
state institutions in the field of foreign investments and for promotion of
foreign investments in the country.
A key function of the Agency is to assist the companies in the investment
process. It provides to prospective investors up-to-date information on the
investment process in the country, legal advice, identification of suitable
Bulgarian partners, co-ordination of the investment policy with other
institutions, etc. The Agency has a staff of 27 experienced experts, and is
headed by a President.
