Commission Report 2002 (Romania)
No significant progress has yet been made on alignment with the acquis on
mutual recognition of professional qualifications. However, the training
programme mentioned in the Action Plan to reinforce institutional capacity in
the field of recognition of professional qualifications (directives on the
general system of recognition and sectoral directives) is being implemented.
As mentioned in the Action Plan, Romania is implementing a capacity building
programme within the National Health Insurance House and District Health
Insurance Houses in order to develop the administrative structures for the
co-ordination of social security systems. Overall, the Accession Partnership
priorities in the area of free movement for persons have been partially met.
Implementation of the measures under the Action Plan is largely on track.
