Commission Report 2002 (Romania)
A new audio-visual law was approved in order to align legislation with the
acquis, and actions were launched to strengthen the capacities of the
independent television/radio regulatory authority. In line with the Action
Plan, the upgrading of equipment in headquarters and local control offices is
taking place as planned. The other planned actions, which include the
training of staff, database restructuring, and the setting up of a department
for protection of minors are due to start before the end of 2002. The
Accession Partnership priorities in this area have been met. Implementation
of the measures under the Action Plan is on track.
