The latest amendment (the ''Amendment``) to the Act No. 513/1991 Coll., as amended (the ''Commercial Code``) was passed by the National Council of the Slovak Republic on October 3, 2001 and is to become effective as of January 1, 2002 excluding (a) provision of Section 30 para.3 relating to necessity of long-term residence permits for foreign members of statutory bodies and Section 68 relating to winding-up and cessation of companies that became effective from the date of official publication of the Amendment, i.e. from December 5, 2001 and excluding (b) Section 21 para.5 relating to business activities of entrepreneurs from EU and OECD countries that shall become effective from the date of validity of accession of the Slovak Republic to the European Community.
