Amendment to the Road Act

(Act No. 439/2001 Coll. amending and supplementing the Act No. 135/1961 Coll. on road communications (the Road Act), as amended)

In accordance with the amendment to the Road Act, motor vehicles at the transit through specified segments of highways or roads for motor vehicles must be marked with a label evidencing the payment of fee for the use of these road communications.

The amount of fee for the use of specified segments of highways and roads for a calendar year for motor vehicles or lorries with the total weight

(a)

up to 3.5 tonne, including, is SKK 600,

(b)

from 3.5 tonne to 12 tonnes, including, is SKK 4,000 and

(c)

over 12 tonnes is SKK 8,000.

The payment for 15 days for motor vehicles or lorries with the total weight

(a)

up to 3.5 tonne, including, is SKK 100,

(b)

from 3.5 tonne to 12 tonnes, including, is SKK 600 and

(c)

over 12 tonnes is SKK 1,200.

The payment for one day for motor vehicles or lorries with the total weight over 12 tonnes is SKK 200.

A penalty up to 10 times the amount of the fee for a calendar year and a ticket fine up to triple amount of this fee may be imposed on a driver who shall use the specified segments of highways and roads for motor vehicles without marking his motor vehicle with a valid label.

This Act shall be in force from 1 January 2002.
