Constitutional Act Amending Slovak Constitution

Constitutional Act No. 323/2004 Coll amending and supplementing the Constitution of the Slovak Republic No. 460/1992 Coll. as amended

In connection with elections into the European Parliament, this Constitutional Act supplemented the Article 129 of the Slovak Constitution by a new paragraph 2, granting the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic the power to decide on the constitutionality and legality of the elections into the European Parliament.

Further, by this amendment to the Slovak Constitution, the incompatibility of the performance of the function of a member of the Slovak Parliament with the performance of the function of a member of the European Parliament was incorporated into the Slovak Constitution.

This Constitutional Act became effective on 1 June 2004, with the exception of the provision incorporating the incompatibility of performance of the function of a member of the Slovak Parliament with the performance of the function of a member of European Parliament which became effective on 20 July 2004.
