Determination of fatherhood has been altered to determination of parenthood under the new Act. The Act responds to the development in the current medical science, mostly with regard to assisted reproduction. The mother of a child will always be the woman who has given birth to the child, while the possibility of a surrogate mother is excluded. The regulation of determination of fatherhood remained unchanged. However, the Attorney General has been excluded from proceeding on the determination of fatherhood.
