The new legal regulation of family law matters has required amendments of further acts, namely Act No. 99/1963 Coll. Civil Procedure Code, as amended, mostly by the introduction of a new non-dispute proceeding, specifically the adoption proceeding, Act No. 97/1963 Coll. on International Private and Procedural Law, as amended, Act No. 40/1993 Coll. on Citizenship in the Slovak Republic, as amended, Act No. 154/1994 Coll. on Registries, as amended, Act No. 153/2001 Coll. on Prosecution, as amended and Act No. 300/1993 Coll. on Name and Surname, as amended.
The Act came into effect on 1 April 2005, except for certain provisions referring to related regulations which came into effect as of the date of its declaration, i. e. on 11 February 2005.
