AMENDMENT TO THE ACT ON TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS(Act No. 254/2003 Coll., amending and supplementing the Act No. 264/1999 Coll. on Technical Requirements for Products and Assessment of Concordance and on amendment and supplement of certain other acts, as amended by the Act No. 436/2001 Coll.) The latest amendment to the Act on Technical Requirements for Products and Assessment of Concordance was adopted in order to meet the obligations of the Slovak Republic as a member of the World Trade Organization, but in particular the obligations related to the adoption of Protocol on Assessment of Concordance and Recognition of Industrial Products, attached to the European Agreement on Association (Association Agreement). The amendment regulates in more details the process of harmonisation of the Slovak technical standards with the technical requirements of the European Community regulations. At the same time, with specified products which may be in special cases released in the market also without the assessment of concordance, this procedure shall not apply, if it is contrary to the obligations towards the European Union. The previously valid rules for the use of CE identification indicating the concordance with the EC technical regulations are specified in other provisions. This act became effective on 1 August 2003. © Cechová & Partners (Bratislava) |
