Commission Report (2002): Czech Republic
Enforcement of intellectual property rights is being substantially
strengthened, in particular through legislative reform. Training activities
foreseen in the Action Plan to improve the specialisation of the judiciary
are continuing and specialised chambers of regional courts dealing with IPR
cases have been established and are operational. As regards the fight against
piracy and counterfeiting, the specialised police unit, foreseen by the
Action Plan, has not yet been established. The Accession Partnership
priorities in the area of company law have been partially met. The
implementation of the measures under the Action plan is on track.
