Commission Report 2002 (Hungary)
Since the opening of
the accession negotiations, substantive discussions have been held on the
individual chapters of the acquis and, by December 1999, negotiations on all
chapters (except Chapter 30 - Institutions) had been initiated. The
Institutions Chapter was opened in June 2002.
By 15 September 2002, the following 26 chapters had been provisionally
closed: free movement of goods, free movement of services, free movement of
capital, free movement of persons, company law, fisheries, transport policy,
taxation, economic and monetary union, statistics, social policy and
employment, energy, industrial policy, small and medium-sized enterprises,
science and research, education and training, telecommunications and
information technologies, culture and audio-visual policy, regional policy
and co-ordination of structural instruments, environment, consumers and
health protection, justice and home affairs, customs union, external
relations, common foreign and security policy and financial control.
